Ilgi Adalan is an artist who is conscious of his creative capacity. He is very enthusiastic about reaching a more contemporary, current and deepening capacity that reaches a form. In all his artistic creations, his position as a ceramic artist who had art education is due to his authentic approach of keeping himself out of all categories. This reality can be seen in his life and art within the indications that show his confidence and his perception of life that is beyond irony. Adalan, with his natural nature is unified with his art. As he redefines the soil with his authentic and sensual aesthetic style, he is conscious of the borders where his limits take him. And according to me, the most important attribute of his character is that he knows that art is a matter of grasping and feeling the whole. He indiscriminately evaluates all artistic creations within a whole. The structure that surrounds the whole is present within the hidden reality of his character. This reality is reflected to his ceramics as an artistic mission of a creative being that comes from painting and sees materials only as tools of creation.
Of course everyone has a life story; a geography where he was born and grew up, the contributions of that geography, a social environment that shapes his character, the state of the world at that time; the reality of emergence of creative power during school and out of school. If a person has a creative potential, that potential emerges regardless of the education that has been given. It cannot be hidden. Art and artistic identity has such a stand, ilgi Adalan is a person who has that kind of creative power. Education has only given him conscious and methodical ideas; the creative capacity within him since childhood was already enriching his authentic interpretation of the world with a reality of self-perception and consciousness. Here we have to define and understand education not as a force that creates the artist but as a tool that gives self-confidence and contributes to development of new methods. Can a person without creative force and potential achieve an artistic progression? One method of defining and identifying an artist as a whole is to take up and try to evaluate him within the connections of a social organization, transformation and change. Because an artist lives within a society. He belongs to a certain social circle. He has relationships, thoughts, and sorrows, positive or negative judgments and happy or unhappy times.
Adalan does not refine himself in his works, but puts him self forward with a clear expression.
